Frequently Asked Questions

How do I prepare for a spray tan?

Shave what you normally shave. (So you don't need to shave again so soon. Hair on your body does not affect your tan). Exfloliate really well (that means scrub your skin to remove older dryer skin). We recommend a clear shower gel and scrubby gloves or a loofah. A rough wash cloth should do the trick in a pinch. Just make sure whatever you wash with does not leave a residue on your skin. Please don't use anything with oils in it or any bar soaps. (It will leave a coating on your skin and the tan may not work) If you are washing your hair at this time, please rinse out your conditioner before exfoliating. Make sure you don't have any lotions, oils, deodorant or make up on at the time of your appointment. We do have baby wipes for make-up or deodorant if you are coming from work. Have something dark and loose fitting to put on after your tan. Be prepared to rinse ofF in a couple hours.

What do I wear while getting a spray tan?

Women can  wear or not wear what they like. We recommend something dark or old if you choose to do so. Men must wear something on their bottom. It can be as small as a G-string just make sure it's old or dark.

When can I shower after my tan?

We use a rapid solution. This means you can rinse off in 1 to 4 hours, depending on how dark you would like to be. Some people choose to sleep in the solution for an even darker tan. This may be okay if you will be on stage or TV. However, it is not recommended for the average person. We will be able to help you decide. Normally 2-3 hours. To, rinse off your tan, get in the shower and rinse until the water is clear. No rubbing, scrubbing, or soap. At this time, just rinse until the water is clear. When you get out, pat dry. Always pat dry with a spray tan. You can apply moisturizer and deodorant after rinsing. Please no oil. You may use soap 18 to 24 hours after your spray tan. Doing so prior to this time will stop the Processing of your tan.

How long does it take the spray tan to dry?

3 minutes. We will dry you.

Can I sit down or lay down after my tan?

Yes you can sit or lay down immediately after your tan. There will be a bronzer on your skin similar to makeup. If you bump into something, the bronzer will come off on that item, it may leave a mark on your skin, but don't worry about you. Worry about what you touched. That being said, Sit on a towel or blanket so you don't get bronzer on your couch or seat. This is only for a couple hours until you rinse off.

Will the tan stain my clothes or my bed?

We recommend that you wear darker clothing for the first 18 to 24 hours. (Because you haven't used soap yet and some bronzer may still be in your pores). Bronzer will not stain most items. It does however, love synthetic fabrics such as spandex and lycra, as well as silk, satin and wool. Most other items will come clean with as little as water. After the first 24 hours it is okay to wear lighter clothing.

How long will my spray tan last?

With proper care, our spray tans last at least 7 to 10 days. The better you exfoliate and the more hydrated your skin is, the longer it should last. Avoid hot tubs and use moisturizer instead of oil for a longer lasting tan.

Can I exercise or swim after a spray tan?

Please wait 24 hrs for the tan to fully process. Tight clothing, public swimming pools and hot tubs can shorten the life of your tan.

How often should I get a spray tan?

Because we all get new skin every seven to ten days, your tan should last that long with proper preparation and care. Some clients tan every week. Some tan every other and some can go 3 weeks and still look good. It all depends on your skin. It is not necessary to remove all of the previous tan before getting a new one. Just exfloliate as much off as possible and the new tan should blend nicely.
